The underlying listing data is refreshed daily. This means valuations and price trends reflect current market conditions, not stale data from weeks ago. Price history data goes back to early 2026.

Valuations are derived from statistical aggregation of real active listings — not algorithmic estimates. The API returns average, median, P25 and P75 prices, giving you a full distribution picture. A minimum of 10 matching listings is required to return a valuation, ensuring statistical reliability.

Yes. CarDossier Market API is fully AI-agent compatible. It ships with an OpenAPI 3.1 specification (available at car-dossier.com/openapi.yaml) that can be imported directly into ChatGPT Custom GPTs, Claude Projects, LangChain tool definitions, and any MCP-compatible AI agent. An MCP Server implementation is also available at car-dossier.com/api/mcp-server.py.

The API uses a pay-as-you-go credit system. Credits are purchased in bundles:

• Starter — $49 / 5,000 credits (~625 valuation calls)
• Growth — $129 / 15,000 credits (~1,875 valuation calls, save 12%)
• Pro — $299 / 40,000 credits (~5,000 valuation calls, save 25%)
• Business — $699 / 100,000 credits (~12,500 valuation calls, save 30%)

Credits per call: Market Valuation = 8, Price History = 10, Market Liquidity = 6, Valuation Factors = 12, Regional Pricing = 8. Credits never expire.

There is no free tier at this time. The Starter package at $49 for 5,000 credits is the entry point. This gives you approximately 625 market valuation calls — enough to thoroughly evaluate the API for your use case before committing to a larger package.

No. CarDossier Market API provides aggregate market data, not individual vehicle history. You query by make, model, year, and optional filters (fuel type, gearbox, mileage range) to get market-level statistics. VIN-level lookups are not available through this API.
